Is your website getting tons of traffic but little or no sales? If you’re struggling to sell your products online or your sales page isn’t converting as well as you would like, don’t worry, there are things you can do. Here we’ll look at the top 10 things you can do to increase the conversion rate of your sales page in no particular order.
1. Change the headline. The headline is one of the first things people see when they get to your site and undoubtedly the first thing they’ll read. Try and test different headlines, it could increase your conversion rate by 100% - 500% or more. If people are leaving your page because the headline sucks, the rest of the copy and offer doesn’t matter.
2. Hire a professional copyrighter. I know they’re expensive, but they know what they’re doing on levels you probably can’t comprehend, and if your site receives a decent amount of traffic, it’s worth the money – big time.
3. Revise your offer. This can have a tremendous impact in sales. A different price, different packaging (product/services included in package, bonuses etc.) can effectively double, triple or quadruple your conversion rate. Try different packaging and be sure to test your results.
4. Be honest. Honesty is key in every single business relationship. If it even looks like you’re flubbing the truth, it can kill your sales and your reputation.
5. Make sure you page loads fast. If it takes more than 10 - 30 seconds, your prospects will be gone before you can even say hello.
6. You should always have an unconditional, 100% money back guarantee. This helps to build trust and even reassures the customer a little that they can always get their money back if they’re not happy with their purchase. The stronger and longer the guarantee, the more trust you build… and the more sales you’ll make.
7. Ask your customers for honest testimonials of your product and reference them throughout your sales page. Testimonials prove social proof for people who are visiting your site which will in turn increase your sales. Give as much information as possible about the people who give the testimonials. If you look at the site for my book, Street Smart Internet Marketing at http://www.InternetMarketingBook.com, you’ll see that I provide the full name of the person providing the testimonial, a link to their website, their picture and the kicker - an audio version of their endorsement. The more info you provide the more real it will seem – more trust you build – more sales you’ll make.
8. If you can offer a free preview, demo of your product, in can help to increase sales like you wouldn’t believe, so long as your product is actually good. The try before you buy method in time proven and lets potential purchasers reassure themselves that they are making the right decision before they commit with their wallets.
9. Add a picture of yourself. This creates credibility and allows your potential customer to trust you just a little more. More trust equals more sales. Along the same lines, you can also add your actual written signature to the bottom of the sales copy.
10. One last quick thing — this might seem blatantly obvious, but don’t sell crappy products. If you’re selling a cheap plastic widget you could get 10,000 visitors to your site and not one sale. Make sure your offer is genuine and that the product is solid gold.
If you follow any or all of these 10 tips to increase your sales page conversion rate, your conversion rate will skyrocket, your sales will increase and so will the thickness of your wallet. Good luck!
